Brown County Library Billing Update
Unfortunately, we have been in an ongoing struggle with the Brown County Library System since June of 2012, due to unnecessary billing.
Public libraries pride themselves on the ability to serve patrons, but because of the circumstances, as voted on by our Library Boards, the following has taken effect as of January 1, 2013:
1. Brown County residents are unable to check out materials at the Appleton, Kimberly-Little Chute, Kaukauna and Muehl (Seymour) Public Libraries.
2. Brown County residents are still welcome to use library facilities and materials while in the libraries.
In order to clear up any confusion regarding this issue, we have attached a short Q&A below. You may also view all documents related to the Brown County Library billing here. Check out the image in the upper left-hand corner for a quick overview of facts and figures from Brown County Library and the four Outagamie County libraries involved in the billing.
If you’re concerned about this change in library service, we encourage you to join with us in asking the Brown County Library to withdraw its bill. We want to continue offering you the same high quality, fair and affordable services we always have. With your help, we are optimistic that we’ll be able to once again resume services to all patrons.
