Did You Know: Compassionate Fox Cities Symposium

Did You Know:  Compassionate Fox Cities Symposium

My job as Adult Programming Librarian for the Community Partnerships department at Appleton Public Library allows me to work with a variety of non-profit groups in the area. One such group, Compassionate Fox Cities, will be hosting Symposium 2012 on Saturday, October 13th from 9:00 am-4:00 pm at the Thompson Community Center, 820 W. College Avenue. Admission to the Symposium is free with a non-perishable food donation. Register by October 6th at cookeris@aol.com. Lunch will be provided by CSI. There will be a number of keynote speakers, workshops, and focus groups. Compassionate Fox Cities’ goal is to offer special events and practical resources to encourage compassionate perspectives and action in daily life. At the Symposium we’ll dig deeper into topics from the Happy movie screenings, living in community, compassion at work, and meditation and compassion in daily life. We encourage participants to view and discuss Happy at Appleton Public Library on Thursday, October 11th from 6:00-8:00 pm. Check out our website at: www.compassionatefoxcities.org
