Did you Know? Cool Off at our Thursday @ the Movies Series

Appleton Public Library has offered regular screenings of feature films and documentaries since February 2009! We all know that July temperatures tend to go sky high in Wisconsin. We invite you to join us and cool off during summer. We’re offering a variety of free film screenings and refreshments all summer long. Here is the July line-up:

Thursday, July 11 | 4:00-6:00 pm

Not Fade Away

Starring John Magaro, Jack Huston, Will Brill, Dominique McElligott, Brad Garrett, and the late James Gandolfini.
From David Chase, creator of The Sopranos, comes a story about discovering your passions, following your dreams, and finding yourself. It's the 1960s and rock n' roll is changing the world. Inspired by a bold new era and his success in a local band, Douglas drops out of college to pursue his musical dreams, only to discover the harsh realities of the music industry. Douglas is forced to choose between listening to his father or listening to his heart. Rated R.

Hitchcock

Plagued by both a reckless ego and nagging self-doubt, Hollywood legend Alfred Hitchcock becomes obsessed with a grisly murder story that the studios won't back. Determined, he risks his reputation, his home, and even the love of his wife Alma as he sets out to make the film. Ultimately, Hitch wins Alma over, and the two collaborate to create an enduring masterpiece: Psycho. Rated PG-13.

Oz the Great and Powerful

Starring: James Franco, Michelle Williams, Rachel Weisz, Mila Kunis. A small-time magician is whisked away to an enchanted land and is forced into a power struggle between three witches. Rated PG.
