GoodReads Choice Awards 2012 YA Winners is my favorite site for tracking books I've read and want to read, as well as what my friends have read and enjoyed. So pardon my bookgeek excitement about Goodreads's Choice Awards--annual awards for books in various categories voted on by Goodreads users.

Nerdfighters will celebrate the landslide win of John Green's The Fault In Our Stars in the Young Adult Fiction category. It came in with nearly 30,000 votes over the runner up in the category, Tammara Webber's Easy. Be sure to take a look at the other great titles in this category, too.

There's a separate Young Adult Fantasy & Science Fiction category, the best of which (as chosen by GoodReads users) is Veronica Roth's Insurgent (sequel to Divergent), with runner up Cassandra Clare's City of Lost Souls coming in 9,000 votes short of the winner. I wasn't a fan of Divergent, so I won't be picking up Insurgent. My pick for this category, Jasper Fforde's The Last Dragonslayer didn't make the top twenty, but Rachel Hartman's Seraphina did, and it's definitely worthy.

There are other categories (Fantasy, Graphic novels) that might interest you, so head over to GoodReads and check out the 2012 Choice Awards.
