Help Pick APL's New Logo!

For the past 18 months we have been working on creating an updated brand identity for the library that serves as a companion to the Friends of Appleton Public Library's brand identity.

The first step of our brand identity update included selecting brand colors (Blue, Purple and Green) and brand fonts (Century Gothic - Sans Serif, Alexon Medium RR - Serif), in order to create a cohesive message for our community. The brand colors and fonts were selected based off of the new Friends of Appleton Public Library's identity, created by a local marketing firm.

The next step in the process is selecting a new logo and we want you to help us pick the final logo! After receiving very valuable feedback from staff surveys, community focus groups, and the work completed by our Community Advisory Committee for our current strategic plan, we were able to create several pages of designs of possible logos. Staff members voted on the logos and narrowed the designs down to their top three choices.

The ideas for the logo designs center around our new strategic plan, APL 150. The seven strategies we have adopted in APL 150 are represented in each logo. Logo one is based off of our current logo (pictured above). Logo two is based off of the idea of the library as a hub of learning and literacy. Logo three is the most abstract logo, but is still based off of the seven strategies and can be interpreted differently by each individual.
