2014 Get Up and Go Day

Friday, August 1 | 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Get up and go Friday, August 1 with several free activities including crafts, visits from fire trucks, police cars and buses, dance and fitness fun and more!  

Part of our parking lot will be closed for the morning. Metered parking will be available at the City Center Ramp or there is parking for $2/day at the East Ramp.

Children's Parade!

March in the Children's Parade with Appleton Public Library Children's staff and dress up as your favorite storybook character or wear a wacky science costume to celebrate our 2014 Summer Reading Program science theme of Fizz, Boom, READ!

The parade is scheduled for Wednesday, July 23 at 6:00 pm and any child 12 and under is welcome to march in this non-motorized parade that will travel from Houdini Plaza on College Avenue and end with a reception for families at City Park.    

Registration is FREE but required and limited to the first 100 applicants. To register, please submit a completed waiver of liability form to children@apl.org or drop it off at the Children's Service desk before 8:00 pm Tuesday, July 22. We will confirm your registration by telephone or email. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

A Dr. Who Extravaganza

July 22 | 6:00-7:30 pm

Celebrate the good doctor and his companions with an evening of whovian proportions! Test your Dr. Who knowledge with trivia, design a bow tie (because bow ties are cool) and more! Registration is required, fill out the registration form here, or call (920) 832-6173 or (920) 832-6187. A Dr. Who Extravaganza is open to all ages!

Get ready to laugh! Bring your favorite jokes and funny poems to share and listen to the librarian's favorite humorous poems.

A Chocolate Celebration | July 15
Enjoy a story or two featuring chocolate, play a few chocolate candy bar games and savor a sweet treat!

Secret Agents | July 22
Train to be a secret agent! After sharing a story, we'll learn about codes and ciphers, try disguising our voices and maybe even have a scavenger hunt!

*Lego Movie | July 29
Bring a snack, some pillows and watch the new Lego Movie with us! *The Lego Movie begins at 6:05 pm.
