Cookie Club!







Visit the Library and check out or read a book four times between April 21 and May and receive a stamp on your official Cookie Club card.  You must sign up at the Library to receive a card, and can receive your first stamp when you sign up.  After you collect your four stamps, you can bring your completed card to Great Harvest Bread Co. on Northland Ave. for a free cookie!  The Cookie Club is for children in grade 6 and younger.  The Cookie Club card will expire on June 30, 2014.  Thank you to Great Harvest Bread Company for sponsoring the Cookie Club!

Our Summer 2014 Children's Services Program Booklet is now available online.  Take a peek at all our fun summer plans including special performers coming to Children's Services!   The Children's Summer Reading Program has a science based theme this year called "Fizz, Boom, Read!"  Stay tuned for more Summer Reading Program news.

Reading to Infants and Toddlers

Have you seen the Begin Smart video hosted by the Library of Virginia on YouTube? This fifteen minute video is chock full of the whys and hows of early literacy. A range of young children and caregivers demonstrate ways to read together from infancy to toddlerhood. For more information like this go to Growing Wisconsin Readers, a site sponsered by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.

Celebrate el día de los niños, el día de los libros!

Celebrate el día de los niños, el día de los libros with us on Tuesday, April 29 from 6:30-7:15 pm. With this drop-in program, share a book, play lotería and make papel picado. Special guests from the Appleton Bilingual School will also be here to celebrate with small reading groups and activities! No knowledge of Spanish or English is necessary.
