Time Travel in Science Fiction

Led by Bill Gillard, Assistant Professor of English, UW-Fox Valley

During the 20th century, science fiction writers published stories that appealed to American audiences of many different eras. Films and television, too, tell tales of the future that speak about contemporary issues. Our wide-ranging discussion will use well-known stories, film, and TV (think Bradbury, Clarke, Le Guin, Twilight Zone, Star Trek, and Star Wars) as starting points for understanding how science fiction, particularly time travel, works its magic.
