Artist-in-Residence

We support and celebrate local art and artists through our Artist-in-Residence program. By providing a space for artists to showcase their work, we foster a creative and connected community.

About the Program

Our Artist-in-Residence program began in 2015. Since then, over 30 artists have shown their work or held sessions through this program.

Each residency lasts three consecutive months. Artists provide three engagement events and display art in the Rick and Sue Detienne Gallery. Thanks to Friends of Appleton Public Library, artists receive an honorarium and funds for program supplies. Additionally, artists receive coordinated workspace and promotion of art and residency through our communication channels.

Application Period

Typically, we hold an open application period for our next Artist-in-Residence once a year. Artists are selected with support from a curation team comprised of community artists. The application period is currently closed.
