New Albums Added to FlipSide
We’re excited to announce the addition of six new albums to FlipSide, the Fox Cities’ local music streaming platform. These diverse and vibrant albums showcase the talent and creativity of artists from our community. Below you’ll find reviews for each new album, highlighting the unique qualities and standout tracks that make each album special. Take a listen for yourself, and check out the other great local artists while you’re there.

Beggar Moon
Dylan Donnelly
Dylan Donnelly’s debut album Beggar Moon is a true sonic experience, transporting listeners to places unexplored. As you listen, you’ll hear beautifully blended acoustic and electronic instruments within a meditative musical framework. Amazingly, almost every sound you hear in this album was recorded by Dylan himself, with a few tracks featuring his brother Tyler on percussion.
From the opening harmonics of “The Song Takes Its Toll” to the closing buzz of “Beggar Moon”, this album is well worth an uninterrupted listen from start to finish. But if you only have time for a couple of songs, “Traveling Song” and “Dreamcatcher” are both impressive displays of Dylan Donnelly’s musicianship.
Upon The Windowsill
Gilliana
Upon The Windowsill is the carefully crafted and honest debut EP of songwriter, singer, and writer Gilliana. The three tracks simultaneously capture the warm familiarity of a conversation with an old friend and the mystery and excitement of chatting with someone new. “Momento” is a perfect example of how Gilliana captures these two feelings. The classic instrumentation and exploratory lyrics of the verses are met with an uplifted chorus, with a high energy, distorted bridge guiding listeners to the end.
In the best way possible, Upon The Windowsill leaves you wanting more. The good news is you can have more! Check out Gilliana’s FlipSide artist page to find links to her socials, which feature some wonderful live recordings and reflections on her music.
Brighter Days
Erin Krebs
A true gem of the Fox Cities, jazz vocalist Erin Krebs strikes gold again with her newest full-length album, Brighter Days. In the eleven-song track list, you’ll find a perfect mix of old jazz standards you love and new original songs you’ll love even more! When you listen to this album, you not only hear the exemplary musicianship of Erin but also that of Paul Sucherman (piano), Jerry Sparkman (bass), Mike Malone (drums), Eric Koppa (sax), and Jeff Johnston (guitar). With Erin’s arrangements, the six musicians have created a wonderful album. If you’re up for a challenge, try to listen to “Little Bird” and “The Way Home” without tapping your foot or bobbing your head.
This is Erin’s third album featured in FlipSide. To view her other music on the platform, simply type “Erin Krebs” into the FlipSide search bar.
The Voices in My Head
Brad Bordini
Brad Bordini’s second studio album The Voices in My Head is pure Americana. From the smooth picking of the acoustic guitar on “Summer Days” to the soulful organ of “Heads or Tails”, this album checks all the right musical boxes. Throughout the album, Brad beautifully mixes his music and lyrics to explore how the thoughts and conflicts within our own minds impact our relationships with others.
While this is Brad’s first feature on FlipSide, you may recognize the familiar voice of Fox Cities’ favorite Kurt Gunn on background vocals. Kurt has three full length albums (Scenes From A Small Town In Maine, Northern Town, and Long Drive to Nowhere) and one EP (Winter) featured on FlipSide. Brad and Kurt will perform together at this year’s Mile of Music under the name The Brothers Gunn.
Everything You Didn’t Want to Hear
Eli Orion
Everything You Didn’t Want to Hear is everything you want to hear. Eli Orion’s ambitious debut album is fun, catchy, and thoughtfully made. Throughout this 13-track album, listeners are brought along a musical journey where each song is unique from the last, and yet fits well within the larger, cohesive musical work.
Several songs incorporate heavy electronic instruments and sounds which create a cyberpunk feel. “Diesel (I’m Alive)”, for example, combines these sounds with distorted guitar and vocals to establish the futuristic feel. Still, other songs like “On the Set of a Romantic Drama (Are They Filming?)” and “Deserve” incorporate intimate storytelling through acoustic instrumentation. Visit Eli Orion’s artist page to find a link to his YouTube channel which, features accompanying music videos and behind the scenes footage to this album.
Into the Water
disconapse
Funk! Rock! Soul! Into the Water by Appleton’s own disconapse has got it all! Formed in 2021, the band has steadily made a name for themselves in the Fox Cities, laying down solid grooves at their live shows. This year disconapse will be making their return appearance at Mile of Music, and FlipSide is honored to be the only place on the internet where you can hear their studio album before the big show! As you listen, you’ll hear superbly talented musicians who really gel.
Track one, “pryzm”, beautifully showcases how the band constructs such grooving songs. Starting with the rhythm section, the drums and bass lock in to establish a firm and funky foundation. From there, the guitar builds the musical framework of the chordal structure, allowing the vocals to add the final melodic detail. In each track, from start to finish, disconapse exemplifies expert collaboration through music.
