Help with Overdrive / Libby
User Tips
OverDrive offers downloadable books, audiobooks, music, and videos. A total of 10 items may be checked out at one time with an additional 10 items placed on hold. Items may have hold lists because OverDrive is a statewide shared service.
The OverDrive mobile app is called Libby by OverDrive. The old OverDrive app (with the blue “OverDrive” icon) is no longer supported and won’t work on your device. If you have a Kindle, please see the help with Kindles page.
Choose your library when setting up or logging into your account.
- On a computer, select InfoSoup Libraries or Outagamie-Waupaca Libraries from the list. Don’t choose Appleton Public Library, as it’s located in Minnesota.
- On the Libby app with a zip code search, select Wisconsin Public Library Consortium as your library. If you’re using the “Choose Your Location” link, select InfoSoup Libraries in the list.
In addition to using the Wisconsin Public Library Consortium site, computer and laptop users can mimic using the Libby App by going to libbyapp.com.

Submitting a Support Ticket
If you’re having technical issues with a title not downloading properly and you are given an error message, we can submit a support ticket to OverDrive on your behalf.
We will need the following information to create a support ticket with OverDrive:
- Your Name
- Your Email
- A Description of the Issue
- Error Message Text
- Operating System
- Browser
- Software Application
- Type of Device
Setting Your Default Due Date Lengths
When you first sign up for OverDrive, you’re typically assigned the shortest checkout period for items (example: one week for an audiobook or book rather than two or three weeks). You can set your preferred, default checkout durations by logging into the website (this cannot be done in the app).
