Library Building Project Update: December 2020

The City of Appleton Common Council approved the 2021 Executive Budget and Service Plan at their November 11 meeting. The 2021 budget includes $2.4 million for architectural design work toward a renovated or reconstructed library facility on the current site (see page 630). The budget also identifies $12 million each in 2022 and 2023 for the construction of the facility.

Library and city staff are currently working on a Request for Proposals (RFP) for architectural and engineering services for the renovation of, addition to, and/or replacement of the library on the current site. The RFP will open on Thursday, December 17. A tentative timeline for the RFP process is listed below:

      • Request for Proposal Deadline – Early February 2021
      • City of Appleton Finance Committee Approval – Early March 2021
      • Library Board and City Council Approval – Mid-March 2021
