SLP: Summer Library Program June 5 - August 6, 2022

Our Kids, Teen, and Adult Summer Library Programs are online again this year — and the badge books for kids have returned!

Want a screen-free option for your baby, toddler or child? Get your reading log below for the paper programs instead of doing the online program for Children.

Baby & Toddler Paper Program

No Registration Required — just start logging your reading June 5.

  1. Color in an icon on your reading log for every 15 minutes you read together.
  2. When you reach the “Half Way There!‘ point come in to the library for a special prize.
  3. Finish the program by coloring in all the reading icons and completing at least eight activities listed on the back of the reading log. When both sides are complete, visit the library to pick up your prize or call us to schedule a contactless pick up.

Children’s Online Program with Badge Book

Log in to your Beanstack account (or register if you do not already have an account from previous Summer Library Programs) and select to participate in the 2022 Kids Summer Library Program.

  1. Log 60 minutes of reading to earn a virtual badge.
  2. Receive a free Beanstack badge book full of fun activities and stickers (while supplies last). The badge book follows along with the online program to earn even more virtual badges. Pick up your Beanstack badge book at our 2411 S. Kensington Drive location after you’ve registered.
  3. Finish the program by earning all 10 virtual reading badges (logging 600 minutes of reading this summer).

Teen Online Program

Log in to your Beanstack account (or register if you do not already have an account from previous Summer Library Programs) and select to participate in the 2022 Teen Summer Library Program.

  1. Log two hours of reading in a week to earn that week’s virtual reading badge.
  2. All who sign up for the teen program will receive a free book (while supplies last).
  3. Finish the program by earning eight of the nine virtual reading badges and be automatically entered into the grand prize drawing.

Adult Online Program

Log in to your Beanstack account (or register if you do not already have an account from previous Summer Library Programs) and select to participate in the 2022 Adult Summer Library Program.

  1. Log 30 minutes of reading in a week to earn that week’s virtual badge and be automatically entered into the weekly prize drawing for an APL Summer Library Program tote bag and your choice from a large assortment of new books. Technically, we don’t care if you read less than 30 minutes, but we have to choose an amount of minutes in order for the program to think someone earned a badge. So, even if you read less, it’s ok to say you read 30 minutes that week — we just want you to read something.
  2. Participate in activities to earn additional virtual badges and drawing entries to win a free book. Three of the four activities include attending specific library events.
  3. Finish the program by earning at least six virtual reading badges and be automatically entered into the grand prize drawing. Earn an extra grand prize entry by completing the ‘Write Reviews in InfoSoup’ activity which asks you to submit two book reviews in InfoSoup.
