About the Veterans' Grave Registration
Registration information was gathered by V.F.W. Harvey Pierre Post 2778 of Appleton and later donated to the library. Most of the veterans are from the Civil War (344) and from World War 1 (129). There are 28 grave registration for the War of 1898 and one each from the War of 1812 and the War with Mexico, 1845-1848.
Each grave registration form may contain the veteran’s name; last address; war in which the veteran participated; military service organization; date of enlistment; date discharged; rank; date of death; burial cemetery including grave number, lot number, and section; date of birth; and next of kin.
Most of the grave registration information included in this database is from Riverside, St. Joseph, and St. Mary cemeteries in Appleton. Also included is information from Zion Cemetery in Appleton, New St. John and Old St. John cemeteries in Little Chute, and one record from St. Paul Cemetery in Combined Locks.
Please note: this database does not consist of historical documents. The information provided on the cards was compiled and typed by a volunteer in the late 20th century.
